Our integrated class is for students looking to explore yoga more deeply. The asana practice is at a general level but the invitation is to dive more deeply into the practice using more of the philosophical principles of yoga. We also explore pranayama and meditation in more detail and work within the guidelines of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.
What does this mean?
Most of us are drawn to yoga for the physical practice. Which is great. We have heard that it is good for our body physically, our stress levels, our blood pressure, for helping us be more relaxed and calm etc. And this is fantastic, but in essence, yoga is a practice for the mind. And working physically with the body and breath can teach us a lot about how our mind works.
When we have been attending classes for a while, we may begin to feel like there is more to it than just fitness (at least I hope so), and this is where the integrated class comes in. There is still asana - the same as a general class, but we are invited to deepen our understanding of what is happening in asana, and here are where the real jewels lie.
If you think this may be for you, come along and try a class out. Tuesdays at 7.15pm - 8.45pm, or if you are not sure, give me a call 0419 328 054.
With Love
Gina.
