I am fresh back for a wonderful retreat in Bali. I have been travelling to Bali for yoga retreats for more than 10 years. But this past June was the first retreat I have lead as the teacher on this gorgeous island. The beauty of Bali is more than its warm weather, greenery and food. The culture of the Balinese people is fully embedded in everything they do, everyday. The streets are lined with daily offerings, their houses are all built aligned in a particular direction to achieve harmony with the universe, and there is such deep respect for family and the elderly.
There was 13 of us at the beautiful Dragonfly Village. Each day started with meditation, pranayama and asana, then a sumptuous breakfast before heading back to the shala for iRest yoga nidra. Our afternoons were free to explore and then our final session for the day was restorative, chanting and meditation.
Retreat is more than a holiday. It are an opportunity for growth and deepen our understand of ourselves, we just happen to do this in paradise!
